At PerPayGold, trust is our foundation. Every unit of digital gold you purchase is backed by an equivalent quantity of physically held, BIS-certified, 24-karat gold stored in insured, regulated vaults across India.

02 Gold Purity Standards

PerPayGold deals exclusively in 24-karat gold of the highest purity. Our purity standards are non-negotiable and verified at multiple stages:

  • Fineness: All gold held is 999.9 fine (24K), meaning 99.99% pure gold with less than 0.01% impurities
  • LBMA-Grade Bars: Physical gold bars sourced conform to London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) good delivery standards
  • XRF Testing: Each batch undergoes X-ray fluorescence (XRF) testing at the time of procurement to independently verify purity
  • Fire Assay: For large inflows, a fire assay test is conducted by a NABL-accredited laboratory to confirm metal composition
  • No Recycled or Secondary Market Gold: PerPayGold only procures gold from LBMA-listed refiners — never from unverified secondary sources

03 BIS Hallmarking

All physical gold delivered to customers by PerPayGold — in the form of coins or bars — carries the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) hallmark as mandated under the BIS (Hallmarking) Regulations, 2018.

The BIS hallmark on our gold contains the following four components:

BIS Logo (Triangle Mark) Confirms that the gold item has been tested at a BIS-recognised Assaying & Hallmarking Centre (AHC).
Purity / Fineness Grade Stamped as "999" or "999.9" to indicate 24-karat gold. This confirms the metal meets the highest purity grade under Indian Standards (IS 1417).
AHC Identification Mark A unique code identifying the Assaying & Hallmarking Centre that tested and certified the specific item.
HUID – Hallmark Unique ID A six-character alphanumeric code assigned by BIS to each piece of jewellery/coin, enabling traceability and verification on the BIS Care app.
Verify via BIS Care App: Customers can verify the authenticity of their hallmarked gold by entering the HUID on the official BIS Care mobile app or at bis.gov.in. This provides real-time confirmation of the item's certification status.

04 Vault & Custodian Certification

All digital gold purchased on PerPayGold is backed by physical gold held in secure, insured vaults operated by SEBI-regulated custodians. Key details of our custodial arrangement:

  • Custodian Partner: Gold is held with a registered custodian approved under the SEBI (Custodian of Securities) Regulations, 1996
  • Segregated Holdings: Customer gold is held in segregated accounts and is never commingled with PerPayGold's proprietary assets
  • Insurance Cover: All gold in custody is fully insured against theft, natural disaster, and transit risks through a Lloyds of London-backed policy
  • Vault Locations: Vaults are located in Tier-1 Indian cities and comply with RBI-grade physical security standards
  • 1:1 Backing: Every gram of digital gold issued is backed by exactly one gram of physical gold held in custody — no fractional reserves
Important: PerPayGold does not use customer gold for lending, pledging, or any purpose other than custodial safekeeping. Your gold is yours — always.

05 Digital Certificate

Every gold purchase on PerPayGold generates a Digital Purchase Certificate — a tamper-proof, blockchain-anchored record of your gold ownership. This certificate is:

  • Automatically issued to your registered email within 5 minutes of a successful purchase
  • Also accessible at any time from your PerPayGold account under "My Holdings → View Certificate"
  • Anchored to a distributed ledger, making it immutable and independently verifiable

Your Digital Certificate includes the following information:

Certificate validity: Digital certificates are perpetually valid and do not expire. They remain on record for the lifetime of your account and are downloadable as a PDF at any time.

06 Third-Party Audits

To maintain the highest level of transparency, PerPayGold subjects its gold reserves, digital records, and operational processes to independent third-party audits on a regular basis:

  • Annual Vault Audit: A NABL-accredited auditing firm physically inspects and weighs all gold held in custody against digital records — conducted every financial year
  • Quarterly Reconciliation: Internal reconciliation of digital balances vs. physical holdings is performed every quarter and reviewed by our Board Audit Committee
  • Technology Audit: Our platform and blockchain certificate infrastructure undergoes an annual IS/IT security audit by a CERT-In empanelled auditor
  • Regulatory Filing: Audit findings are disclosed to the relevant regulatory authority as required under applicable law

07 Physical Gold Assurance

When customers choose to convert their digital gold into physical gold (coins or bars), PerPayGold provides the following assurances:

09 Fraud & Counterfeit Protection

PerPayGold employs a multi-layered approach to prevent fraud, counterfeiting, and misrepresentation in all gold transactions:

  • Mandatory KYC: All users must complete video KYC before purchasing or redeeming gold — preventing identity fraud and fictitious accounts
  • Blockchain-Anchored Records: Each transaction and certificate is written to an immutable distributed ledger, making retroactive tampering impossible
  • Serial Number Tracking: Every physical gold item has a unique serial number tied to the customer's account — enabling end-to-end chain of custody
  • Real-Time Fraud Monitoring: Our platform employs AI-driven transaction monitoring to flag anomalous purchase patterns for manual review
  • No Gold Without KYC Verification: Physical gold dispatch is only authorised after the delivery address and identity are verified against the KYC record on file
Beware of Impostors: PerPayGold will never ask for your OTP, password, or PIN via call, SMS, or email. If you receive such a request, do not respond and report it immediately to security@perpaygold.com.

10 Verify Your Certificate

You can verify the authenticity of your Digital Purchase Certificate or your physical gold's hallmark through the following methods:

Log in to your PerPayGold account Go to "My Holdings" and tap on any gold holding to view or download your Digital Purchase Certificate.

Verify Certificate ID online Visit verify.perpaygold.com and enter your Certificate ID to retrieve the full transaction record from our blockchain registry.

Verify physical gold hallmark via BIS Care Download the BIS Care app and enter the HUID printed on your gold coin or bar to confirm its certification status directly with the Bureau of Indian Standards.

Request a hard copy certificate For physical gold redemptions above 10 grams, you may request a printed Assay Certificate from our custodian partner. Contact assurance@perpaygold.com to raise this request.
Unable to verify? If your Certificate ID returns no result or your HUID does not match on BIS Care, please contact our assurance team immediately at assurance@perpaygold.com with your transaction ID and a screenshot of the error.
